Aclone

Version 0.54.0 · development alpha · GPL-3.0-or-later

A small, persistent universe with an unreasonable number of tractors.

Drive, trade, farm, run a business, employ neighbours and build a home — or create a world with your own rules.

Aclone is an independent, open-source browser game inspired by A tractor / The Universal. It uses original code, models, textures and synthesized sound, with no dependency on the original game's servers or assets.

What you can do

Build an economy

Gather materials, grow crops, and raise cows, sheep, pigs and chickens. Process feed, milk, cheese, meals, wool, eggs and compost. Set prices and wages, run shops or guesthouses, and cancel unfinished construction for a partial refund.

Live there

The world keeps going: seasons, storms, dawn and sunset, day and night. Stock a home so it can feed you after you log off. Hunger, thirst and starvation continue offline.

Travel

Maintain vehicles, drive, fly, walk, fish, race, or play Hornball and Ultrakricket. A spaceport cargo launcher leaves every few game days. Travel among seven star systems, and visit other trusted self-hosted galaxies with the same pilot.

Make a world

Choose relaxed, survival or combat rules, then change them. Paint terrain, scatter models, write quests, and add optional Lua scripts. Custom goods, professions and building templates are part of the creator tools.

Neighbours

Up to 19 optional AI neighbours have their own personalities, memory and habits. They shop, work and chat. Sending private mail, forming families and trading directly are part of ordinary play.

Desktop or phone

Use a keyboard, or the compact touch controls. Mark map waypoints and follow them while you drive. The same account works from either.

Start playing

Drive with WASD or the arrow keys. Interact with E or Ctrl. Open the map with M, inventory with I, and chat with Enter. On a phone, use the steering and throttle buttons and the Actions menu.

  1. Work a 15-second shift at the Odd Jobs Office for 45d.
  2. Buy food and water at Harbour stores, then consume them from Inventory. Local producers are cheaper than emergency imports.
  3. Learn a profession at school, take a funded job, or save up and buy a business.
  4. Stock a home or a rented room and go inside before you log off.

Set a password, and a recovery email when mail is available, under Pilot & preferences. Keep your pilot key private.
